In 1962, ADL Group began experimenting with different non-asbestos materials to protect hoses and cables from flame and molten metal splash. However, it was not until 30 years later that that ADL Insulflex was born as a company, engineering and producing a variety of high temperature materials.
ADL Insulflex moved from Toronto to its current location in Cobourg, Ontario in 1996. The next year, the company opened a sales office in Germany and another one in China in 2003. Today, they have distribution centres in 60 different countries, allowing for quick and efficient deliveries to customers worldwide.

With their most popular products being fire sleeves, fire blankets, heat resistant tapes, and high temperature sealants, ADL Insulflex has been able to meet the requirements of many companies in industries such as marine, rail, mining, aerospace, and automotive.
Depending on the product, materials used by ADL Insulflex can withstand extremely high temperatures. For example, some fire sleeve options can withstand exposure of up to 1650 degrees Celsius. Some grades of heat resistant tapes can resist temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius. Each product manufactured undergoes rigorous laboratory testing, ensuring customers get only the best.
